It has to stop. Please, be kind.

I’m actually struggling to hold back tears as I write this. I did not know Caroline Flack personally but from what I’d seen of her on tele and social media, she seemed like a pretty decent person and what has happened is truly awful and has upset me a great deal. I don’t always believe what I read in the news as 90% of the time it’s untrue. Which I believe is one of the main reasons why things like this keep happening. Lies should not be allowed to be printed and negative comments should not be allowed to be posted. When will this stop?!

Just because someone is in the public eye doesn’t mean they should have to deal with negative comments and untrue articles. I was always told growing up, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all,” and you know what, it’s really not a difficult rule to live by. If you have something negative to say about someone and you really need to express yourself, speak to a friend, speak to a family member, write it down in your diary if you really need to but DO NOT tell that person, they do not need to know your opinion, keep it to yourself. You have no idea what that person might be dealing with in their personal life and all actions have consequences!

I feel with social media constantly growing and being such a big part of peoples lives that people need to be taught how to use it properly. It’s not just people in the public eye that have been effected by trolling, unfortunately many other lives have been taken due to online bullying and it needs to stop. I don’t know how we are going to stop negative comments from being posted because unfortunately there are just some people out their who seem to enjoy being malicious and that is truly saddening.

I hope that Caroline Flack’s death will have an impact on the people out there that have been using negative, harmful words and changes them for the better. Your actions have consequences, use them for good!

In a world where you can be anything, BE KIND.
